Reverse Osmosis

The Reverse Osmosis (RO) system is one of the most advanced membrane‑based water treatment technologies. By utilizing a semi‑permeable membrane and applying pressure, it is capable of removing the majority of dissolved salts, minerals, ions, heavy metals, nitrates, and organic compounds from water. This system is designed for the treatment of brackish water and high‑TDS water and is widely used across various industries. In this system, raw water is pressurized by a high‑pressure pump and then fed into the reverse osmosis membrane. As the water passes through the membrane, the flow is divided into two streams:
- Permeate: Purified water with very low dissolved solids
- Concentrate (Reject): Water containing concentrated salts and removed contaminants
In this process, 99.5% of the dissolved impurities in the raw water with a size larger than 0.0001 microns are rejected by the membrane and discharged into the concentrate (reject) stream, while the purified low‑salinity water exits through the permeate stream.
